.
In my collection of coins, I have 2 more 5 penny coins than 25 penny coins.
How many 5 penny coins are there if the collection is worth $3.40?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Take off two 5-penny coins from the collection (mentally).
Then you will have equal number of 5-penny and 25-penny coins with the total of $3.30.
Combine each 5-penny coin with the 25-penny coin.
You will get the groups with one 5-penny coin and 25-penny coin in each group.
How much each group worth? 30 pennies: 25 + 5 = 30.
How many such groups are there?
330%2F30 = 11.   (330 stands for $3.30).
It means that there are 11 of 25-penny coins and 11+2= 13 of 5-penny coins in your collection originally
(before you took of 2 of 5-penny coins mentally).
