Question 1042660: Please help me with this question.
Suppose you have a pack R, containing four red cards 2, 3, 4, and 5 of hearts. You also have pack B, containing for black cards, namely, 4, 5, 6, and 7 of spades. Each pack is well shuffled. Without looking at the cards, you pick one card from each pack, record the results, and write down the value of the red card first and followed by the value of the black card. For example, if you pick the 5 of hearts and the 4 of spades, this results are recorded as (5;4).
1.1 Write down the sample space of this activity
1.2 Suppose E is the event "the sum of the numbers on the two cards is eight". Write down the set that represent E.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The sample space is
===2====3====4====5 red
4--2,4---3,4----4,4---5,4
5--2,5---3,5----4,5---,5,5
6--2,6---3,6-----4,6---5,6
7--2,7----3,7----4,7---5,7
black
{(4.4),(3,5),(2,6)}=sum to 8.
