You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Mrs. Jain is 27 years older than her daughter Nilu. After 8 years
she will be twice as old as Nilu. Find their present ages.

Let Nilu's age = x

Mrs. Jain is 27 years older than her daughter Nilu.
Then Mrs. Jain's age is x+27

After 8 years, she (Mrs. Jain) will be...
She (Mrs. Jain) will be (x+27)+8

...twice as old as Nilu (will be in 8 years)
Nilu will be x+8 in 8 years.
And twice Nilu's age then will be 2(x+8)
So:

(x+27)+8 = 2(x+8)

Solve that for x. That will be Nilu's age.
Then add 27 to Nilu's age and that will be
Mrs. Jain's age.
