If 9 Men built 8 cabinets in 12 days, How many cabinets can 6 men build in 4 days?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
8%2F%289%2A12%29 = x%2F%286%2A4%29.
This proportion is a key equation.
Its left side is the rate of work of one man per one day.
The right side is the same for the other case.
Solve for x, the number of cabinets under the question, and get the answer.
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
9 men build 8 cabinets in 12 days
1/3 as many men will take 3 times as long, so
3 men build 8 cabinets in 36 days
twice as many men take half as long, so
6 men build 8 cabinets in 18 days
In 1/9 of that time, 6 men build 1/9 as many, so
6 men build 8/9 cabinets in 2 days
In twice that time, 6 men build twice as many cabinets
6 men build 16/9 cabinets in 4 days
Hope I got it!
