8.
a) If you flip three coins onto the floor, write out the sample space to observe
all possibilities of how the coins fall (heads or tails):
SAMPLE SPACE (list all possibilities):
List them here in a square.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8.
a) If you flip three coins onto the floor, write out the sample space to observe
all possibilities of how the coins fall (heads or tails):
SAMPLE SPACE (list all possibilities):
List them here in a square.
H = heads
T = tails
Sample Space:
HHH
HHT
HTH
THH
HTT
THT
TTH
TTT
There are 8 items in the sample space
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
b) In flipping three coins, what is the probability that you get exactly 2 tails to fall? __________
Look above at the sample space in part (a). Notice how tails T shows up twice in the cases
HTT
THT
TTH
which is three times out of eight total. So the probability as a fraction is 3/8. The probability as a decimal is 0.375 (use a calculator to find 3/8 = 0.375)
