Lily earned an 82 on the first test, another 82 on the second test, a 76 on the third test, and a 92 on the fourth test. What score does she need to get on the fifth test to end up with a five-test mean score of 86?
-------------------
Average of 5 tests = 86
(82+82+76+92+x)/5 = 86
-------------------
332+x = 430
x = 98

If you do get an average of 86 on 5 tests, then the sum of the scores of the 5 tests has to be 5 times 86. You have 4 tests complete, so you can calculate the sum of the first scores. How much more would you need to reach the sum equal to 5 times 86?
