Question 1041711: Please help me solve and graph this problem:
Graph the function.
F(x)=x^4-3x^3-2x^2+12x-8
Use the graph of the function above to answer the following questions.
1) Starting from x = -2, as x decreases in value, what happens to the f(x) value?
2) Starting from x = 2, as x increases in value, what happens to the f(x) value?
3) How many times does the given function cross or touch the x-axis?
I graphed it, but I don't know how to tell is it increasing or decreasing.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) Starting from point , with , as decreases in value, you are going to the left towards .
As you go to the left from , the graph goes up,
meaning that the y-coordinate (the value of ) is increasing.
2) Starting from point , with , as increases in value, you are going to the right towards .
As you go to the right from , the graph goes up,
meaning that the y-coordinate (the value of ) is increasing.
3) The graph crosses the x-axis at , and at .
It touches the x-axis without crossing it at .
So there are 3 points where the function touches or crosses the x-axis.
