You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The whole surface of a rectangle solid is 448sq. cm.
The length of the solid is twice its breadth and the height is half its breadth.
Find the volume of the solid.
:
let x = the breadth
then
2x = the length
and
.5x = the height
:
The surface area:
2(x*2x) + 2(x*.5x) + 2(2x*.5x) = 448
divide by 2, multiply
2x^2 +.5x^2 + x^2 = 224
3.5x^2 = 224
x^2 = 224/3.5
x^2 = 64
x = sqrt%2864%29
x = 8 is the breadth
then
2(8) = 16 cm is the length
and
.5(8) = 4 cm the height
therefore
Vol = 8 * 16 * 4 = 512 cu/cm

:
:
we can check this easily
x*2x*.5x = 512
x^3 = 512
Find the cube root
x = 8
