I'll do the first one to get you started
use a calculator to get 17/5 = 3.4
Take the decimal portion 0.4 and multiply it with the denominator (5) to get 5*0.4 = 2
So
the "3" comes from the whole part of 3.4 and the '2' comes from the result of 2 shown above
Another way is to use long division to find that the quotient is 3 and the remainder is 2. Either way, you'll get the same answer.
