You can put this solution on YOUR website! He spent $10 before he had the coupon and the problem does not say if that purchase qualified for the 20%.

Now he got the coupon and he bought 28.75 and, since he got 20% off, he paid $28.75*0.8 = how much he paid. Use your calculator.
