Question 1039280: If a rectangle's length is 3 more than 2 times the width and the perimeter is 24 what are the dimensions of the rectangle? Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Draw the rectangle, which I can't do here.
width is x
length is 2x+3
perimeter is 2 of each, so half the perimeter is the sum of both.
x+2x+3=12
3x+3=12
3x=9
x=3, width
2x+3=9, length
2 widths are 6
2 lengths are 18
they add to 24.
