Question 1039171: I have been given the task of finding the area of a shaded portion of a composite figure. This figure is a rectangle with a circle inside of it and its shaded portion is the rectangle. The circle has a radius of 4 meters and the rectangle's length is 12 meters, I was not given its width. I am familiar with calculating the area of composite figures, rectangles and circles; however I don't know how to find the area of a rectangle when only the length is given. Thank you for any help you can provide.
