Question 1038931: Please help me with this problem:
For f(x) = x^3 – 3x^2 – 8, use the Intermediate Value Theorem to determine which interval must contain a zero of f.
A. Between 0 and 1
B. Between 1 and 2
C. Between 2 and 3
D. Between 3 and 4
I would really appreciate any help!
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Check the value of the function at each set of endpoints.
If they're the same sign, then a zero may be in the interval, a smaller interval than you checked.
If they're opposite in sign, then a zero is definitely in the interval.
So between 0 and 1,
Maybe.
Do the same for the remaining sets of endpoints.
