You can put this solution on YOUR website!
when Pr[A]=1/3, Pr[B]=1/2, and Pr[A U B]=3/4. what is
a.) Pr[the intersection of events A and B]?
P(A and B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A or B) = (1/3) + (1/2) - (3/4)
= (5/6) - (3/4) = (20-18)/24 = 2/24 = 1/12
--------------------------------
b.) Pr[the union of the two events complement A and complement B]?
Note:: DeMorgan's Law:: (A' U B') = (A and B)' = 1-(1/12) = 11/12
