You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I assume it's a right triangle and you need to solve for x.
Use Pythagorean theorem,
14%5E2%2Bx%5E2=%283x%29%5E2
196%2Bx%5E2=9x%5E2
8x%5E2=196
x%5E2=196%2F8
x%5E2=49%2F2
x=7%2Fsqrt%282%29
highlight%28x=%287%2F2%29sqrt%282%29%29

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x will be:
x^2+196=9x^2
8x^2=196
x^2=sqrt(196)/8
x=14/sqrt(8)
=14 sqrt(8)/8
=28 sqrt(2)/8
x=(7/2) sqrt (2)
3x=(21/2) sqrt (2)
The legs squared are 49/2 and 196=220.5
The hypotenuse squared is (441/4)*2=441/2=220.5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt(14^2+x^2) = 3x raise both sides to the power of 2:
196+x^2 = 9x^2 Subtract 9x^2 and 196 on both sides:
-8x^2 = -196 Divide by -8:
x^2 = 24.5 Take the square root on both sides
x = 4.95
And hypotenuse:
3(4.95) = 14.85
Here is what your triangle looks like:
