Yes! If you take the square root of a negative number, you get an imaginary number.

Examples:
sqrt%28-1%29=+i
sqrt%28-4%29=+2i
sqrt%28-9%29=+3i
sqrt%28-16%29=+4i
etc.

These "i" numbers are called imaginary numbers, and they are NOT real numbers!
