right angled triangle:
Length of string = hypotenuse.
Base of triangle = Distance
from anchor to below the kite.= Adjacent side
Height of kite above ground = Opposite side.
Using Trig Ratios (SOHCAHTOA)
Adjacent side =
Cos(65) = Adjacent/ Hypotenuse
Cos(65) = Adjacent/100
Adjacent = Cos(65) x 100
Adjacent = 42.26 m (2 decimal places)
Height => Sin(65) = Opposite/Hypotenuse
Sin(65) = Opposite/100
Opposite = Sin(65) x 100
Opposite = 90.63 m (2 decimal places)
Horizontal distance = 42.26 m
Vertical Distance = 90.63 m
