Kiran is 24 years older than rakesh .
K = 24 + R.......(1)
Ten years back kirans age was 5 times
the age of rakesh.
K - 10 = 5(R - 10).....(2)
K - 10 = 5R - 50.......(2)
Substitute (24 + R) from Eq(1)
in place of K in Eq(2)
K - 10 = 5R - 50.......(2)
(24 + R) - 10 = 5R - 50
Remove brackets
24 + R - 10 = 5R - 50
Collect like terms:
R - 5R = - 50 + 10 - 24
-4R = -64
R = 16
Rakesh is 16 years old.
Kiran is 40 years old.
