Question 1036935: Hi, I just have trouble like reading through the question in word problems.
For example in one of my math books
"The goal post is 10 feet high and 45 YARDS away from the kick. Will the ball be high enough to pass over the goal post?"
I tend to skip over the YARDS and just assume it's feets. Is there anything I can do to make myself not skipping over units like that?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The question is very poor. Not enough is given in the description. Your incorrect assumption is not important to the question. The goal post is the given height and the ball is the other given distance from the goal post. That's all you have. Will the ball be high enough to pass over the post? What was omitted from the description or the question?

"Will the ball be high enough to pass over the goal post?"

This question cannot be answered with the description given. Yards or feet is not important.

Yes, the ball CAN be high enough to pass over the goal post, depending how hard it is kicked and at what angle it leaves the ground when kicked.
