You can put this solution on YOUR website! How do u convert fractions into decimals?
You divide the denominator of the fraction into the numerator
Ex1-------1/4= 1 divided by 4 =0.25
Ex2--------1/3=1 divided by 3=0.333333333333333333---
Ex3-------2/3=2 divided by 3=0.6666666666666666666-----
Ex4----------2/4=2 divided by 4=0.50
Generally, when we are dealing with decimalss, we round them off depending on the level of accuracy that we need.
In example 2, if we are content with accuracy to the nearest tenth, then the answer is 0.3; If we want an accuracy to the nearest hundreth, then the answer is 0.33; If we want an accuracy to the nearest millionth, then the answer is 0.333333 and so forth.
In example 3, if we want an accuracy to the nearest thousandth, then the answer would be 0.667.
If someone tells you they walked 4 miles, then they could have walked anywhere between 3.5 miles and 4.5 miles (to the nearest mile) but if they tell you they walked 4.0 miles, they must have walked somewhere between 3.95 miles and 4.05 miles (to the nearest 1/10 of a mile)
Hope this helps---ptaylor
