Question 1036238: In geometry, if the sum of the angles is 180O, the two are called supplementary angles. Find the measurement of two supplementary angles is their difference is 54O.
The denominator of a fraction is one more than the numerator. If the numerator is decreased by 1 and the denominator is increased by 2, the resulting fraction is ½. Find the original fraction.

I will solve these based on my best guess.
X+y= 180
X- y = 540
We can subtract 360 from 540 and we get 180
We can rewrite
X+y= 180
X-y = 180
Now we can add the two equations
2x = 380 therefore x = 180 if x = 180 then y has to be zero
Second problem
X/(x+1) (X-1)/(x+1)+2 = 1/2
2x-2 =x+1+2 Solving for x = 4
The original equations is x/x+1. = 4/4+1 = 4/5
