Question 1036227: Hi, I have an exam soon and my teacher gave us a practice quiz to get ready for it. He also gave us the answer sheet. However, I cannot find out a way to get to the answer he has given. Could you please explain how to do this problem?
Find the measure of two vertical angles if they measure 90 + 2y and 7y + 9.
The answer is 122.4°.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
That information only means that 90+2y=7y+9, because two vertical angles are congruent. Solve for y. The value of y IS NOT 122.4. But knowing the expression of either angle, USE y to find either angle. Is this 122.4?

90%2B2y=7y%2B9
90=5y%2B9
81=5y
y=81%2F5
