Question 1036211: if the measure of angle ABD=79 degrees what is the measure of angle DBC,the diagram shows B to A as a straight ray going from left to right it then shows a ray going from B to Dat a slight right angle it then shows ray B to C as an angle going at an angle between DBA, in between DBC is the equation 5x+4 and in between CBA is the equation 8x-3 please help my daughter with this she knows to combine like terms then she gets lost

You can put this solution on YOUR website! If I understand the question, the angle of 79 degrees is comprised of two other angles, CBA and DBC
5x+4+8x-3=79, since those two angles add up to 79
The x terms add up to 13x, the numbers 4 and -3=1
Therefore, 13x+1=79
13x=78
divide by 13 both sides
x=6 degrees.
They usually don't want x, but they might.
The angles are 5x+4, which is 34 degrees (x=6)
And...8x-3=45 degrees. The two add to 79, which they must.
