You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi there,
If 8 is added to twice a number and this sum is multiplied by 4,
the result is the same as if the number is multiplied by -22 and 2
is added to the product.
Make the number = x
4(8 + 2x) = -22x + 2
Multiply out
32 + 8x = -22x + 2
Collect like terms:
8x + 22x = 2 - 32
30x = -30
x = -1
The number is -1.
Hope this helps :-)
