3x-2y=-7....(2)
Using Equation(1)
-x + y = 4
Adjust to isolate y
y = 4 + x.....(1)
Now, substitute (4 + x) for y
in Equation(2)
3x - 2y = -7....(2)
3x - 2(4 + x) = -7
3x - 8 -2x = -7
Collect like terms:
3x - 2x = -7 + 8
x = 1
Substitute x = 1 into
Equation(1)
-x + y = 4
-1 + y = 4
y = 4 + 1
y = 5

x = 1 , y = 5
