The smallest of three consecutive even integers is 4 less than 5 times the largest. What are the integers
Let the first/smallest integer be S
Then the middle and largest are: S + 2, and S + 4, respectively
We then get: S = 5(S + 4) - 4
S = 5S + 20 - 4
S - 5S = 16
- 4S = 16
S, or smallest = ========>
Middle integer: - 4 + 2 =======>
Largest integer: - 4 + 4 ======>
