You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the $3 stamps be x and $0.33 stamps be y
x+y = 30 subtract y from both sides:
x = 30-y
We also have the following:
3x+0.33y = 41.94 substitute for x:
3(30-y)+0.33y = 41.94
90-3y+0.33y = 41.94
-2.67y = -48.06 Divide both sides by -2.67 and remember -/- = +
y = 18 stamps of 33 cents and
30-18 = 12 stamps of $3

Check:
18*0.33 = 5.94
12*3 = 36
5.94+36 = 41.94 Correct
