I am a returning student and have been brushing up on my algebra, but I can't seem to crack this problem for my chem class. Could you please lay this out for me in steps?
(3*0.058cm^3/4pi)^1/3
in otherwords, ((3 divided by 4 pi) times 0.058 cubic cm.) and the entirety is raised to the 1/3 power.
The book gives the answer of 0.24013 cm., but I am just not getting there! I really appreciate any help. Roxanne Found 2 solutions by Alan3354, fractalier:Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! (3*0.058cm^3/4pi)^1/3
------------
Assuming 4pi is in the denominator:
--> (0.174/(4pi))^1/3
=~ 0.01384648^1/3
=~ 0.24013 cm
======================
1/3 power = cube root
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Okay, sure...have a calculator handy...we have =
Do the 3/4pi first... =
then multiply that by .058 =
now take the cube root (or raise it to the .333 power)
