Question 1034134: Make a table and solve. Round to the nearest tenth of necessary
The first bus for the senior trip left the school 1/2 hr later than a second bus, which traveled at an average speed of 45 mi/hr. When it finally departed, the second bus averaged 50 million/hr. How long did it take second bus to catch up with the first bus?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assuming the first bus left 1/2 hour early, traveling at 45 mph, then it had a 45 x 1/2 hr=27.5 mile head start. So:
50 mph X x hours = 45 mph X x hours + 27.5 miles
50x=45x+27.5
5x=27.5
x=5.5
The second bus caught up to the first after 5.5 hours of traveling.!!!!!!!
