A couple of ways to solve...let's just multiply out, collect terms and solve...we get
2(x-2)=4(x-13)
2x - 4 = 4x - 52
Now add 52 and get
2x + 48 = 4x
Now subtract 2x and get
48 = 2x
Now divide by 2 and get
x = 24
