Question 1033594: A 6 shelf bookcase has 8 books in each shelf. If only 4 shelves are to be used for all the books, how many more books will each shelf have?
12, 9, 4 or 2?
Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! First, determine how many books there are...well, 6 shelves of 8 books each would be 48 books, right?
Second, figure how many books would sit on the four shelves...well 48/4 = 12 books per shelf.
Then, you used to have 8 books on a shelf, now there are 12.
The answer is 4 more.
