Let 3x be one number and 4x the other number.
Problem: The sum of these two numbers is to the sum of their squares the same as 7 is to 50:
(3x+4x)/((3x)^2+(4x)^2) = 7/50
7x/25x^2 = 7/50
x/25x^2 = 1/50
1/25x = 1/50
x = 1/2
----------
One number is 3x = 1.5
The other is 4x = 2
