Question 1032969: Find the equation of the line that passes through the pair of points.(4, 6), (−4, 0) Write your answer in slope-intercept form. Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi there,
Gradient = y2 - y1/x2 - x1
Gradient = 0 - 6/-4 - 4
Gradient = -6/-8 = 6/8 = 3/4
Using line equation:
y - b = m(x - a)
m = 3/4 (a,b) = (4,6)
y - 6 = 3/4(x - 4)
y - 6 = 3/4x - 12/4
y - 6 = 3/4x - 3
y = 3/4x - 3 + 6
y = 3/4x + 3
or
4y = 3x + 24
Hope this helps :-)
