Question 103288: I need your help again! I can't figure out how to do the graph or solve the equation on this problem.
Graph the parabola (y+2)^2 + 6x + 3 = 0. Identift the vertex, focus, and the equation of the directrix.
Help! This has totally lost me. You guys are awesome! Thanks for the help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graph the parabola (y+2)^2 + 6x + 3 = 0. Identify the vertex, focus, and the equation of the directrix.
------------------
Write in vertex form:
(y+2)^2 = -6(x-(1/2))
Vertex: ((1/2),-2)
-----------------------------------------------------
4p=-6, so p =-3/2
Focus: ((1/2)-(3/2),-2) = (-1,-2)
------------------------------------
Directrix: x = (1/2)-(-3/2) ; x = 2
-------------------------------------
Cheers,
Stan H.
