SOLUTION: If the side of each tile measures 3 centimeters, what will be the area of each hexagon, to the nearest tenth?
1/2 (1.5 x squareroot of 3) x 18 = 23.4
you use apothem to find t

Question 1032489: If the side of each tile measures 3 centimeters, what will be the area of each hexagon, to the nearest tenth?
1/2 (1.5 x squareroot of 3) x 18 = 23.4
you use apothem to find the height of the side of the hexagon to find area of each hexagon.
is this Right and good? Answer by rfer(16322) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 3^2-1.5^2=
9-2.25=6.75
sqrt 6.75=2.6 height
--------------------
A=(l*h)/2
A=(3*2.6)/2
A=3.89 sq cm one triangle
A for the hexagon=3.89*6=23.38 sq cm
--------
I did it a little different, but I got the same answer.
Good luck with math
