Question 1031476: Given Triangle ABC with A(2, 1), B(4, 9) and C(16,1).
a. Find the midpoints of AB, BC, and AC and label them D, E, and F respectively. (done)
b. Draw the perpendicular bisectors of AB, BC, and AC and find their equations. (drew the bisectors and wrote equations but my teacher said that they are incorrect. The ones that I put are as followed:
AB = 1/ -4 y - 3 = 1/-4 (x - 5 )
BC = y - 5 = 3/2 (x - 3)
AC = y = -9

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Triangle ABC with A(2, 1), B(4, 9) and C(16,1).

Mid point of AB A(2, 1), B(4, 9) = (3,5) Slope of AB = 4
The perpendicular at M will have a slope of (-1/4) and passes through (3,5)
5 =(-1/4)*3 +c
5=-3/4 +c
20=-3+4c
23=4c
c= 23/4
The equation is y = (-1/4)x + 23/4
Repeat for BC and CA
Mid point of BC B(4, 9) and C(16,1).= (10,5)

Mid point of CA C(16,1)A(2, 1), .= (9,1)
