The point is in (x.y) forfat. x = 1, y = 3
Sub for them in the equation, see if it's equal.

y = 2x-5
3 =? 2*1 - 5
3 =? -3
Not eqaul, not on the line.

Determine the slope of the line 3x-y+9=0
Put it in slope-intercept form.
That means solve for y.
3x-y+9=0
3x+9 = y

The slope (called m) is the coefficient of x in this form.
