You can put this solution on YOUR website!
since we are given the slope and the y intercept lets write the equation in slope intercept form first
slope intercept form is:
y = mx + b
so just substitute the given slope for m
and the given y intercept for b
y = -1x + 2
Now to write this equation in standard form just move the x term to the left side of the equation
to do this add 1x to both sides
y + 1x = -1x + 1x + 2
the 1x's on the right side cancel out leaving
y + 1x = 2
y + x = 2
So the equation in standard form of the line having slope m and y-intercept b
where m = -1, b = 2
is
y + x = 2
