SOLUTION: Bob incorrectly reasons that logb 1/x= logb x/xx
Bob's answer- =logb x-logb x+logb x=logb x.
What mistake has Bob made?
I want to say it's because logb X-logb X-logb X

I'd like to hear a suggestion. Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source):
if we start with log(1/x) = log(x/xx), he might have gotten - log(x) out of that, or he might have messed up and called it log(x).
if we start with log(x/xx) he might have mistakenly took this as log(x) - log(xx) which he might then have mistakenly made3 it log(x) - log(x) + log(x).
he would ave then had log(x) - log(x) + log(x) = log(x) which would have been wrong.
it's very difficult to say what he did wrong.
it's clear that he's wrong.
you would have had to ask him what he did and why he did it to discover exactly what it was that he did wrong.
