Question 1028509: It takes 4 workers 42 days to complete a job. If 2 of the workers only work half days, how long will it take them to complete the job?
*I am looking for help on this question, I haven't been able to find any help thus far. My first reaction to this problem was to divide the 42 in half, and then divide one of the halves in half, and add it to the 42 to get the new total, but I don't believe that is right. I was wondering if anyone could show me how to solve this kind of story problem. Thank you.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 4 workers 42 days so the task to be completed, if it was just 1 man, is:
42*4 = 168
Now we have:
4 full time
2 1/2 time = 1 full time
So we have 5 men
168/5= 33.6 days

Let me re-formulate the problem as I understand it.
It takes 4 workers 42 days to complete a job. If 2 of workers only work half days, how long will it take them to complete the job?
So, actually it is equivalent as if THREE workers work full time.
Then it requires = 56 days.
