You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6X-3=-2X+21
6X+2X=21+3
8X=24
X=24/8
X=3 ANSWER.
PROOF:
6*3-3=-2*3+21
18-3=-6+21
15=15

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
solving for x
6x - 3 = -2x + 21
first move all terms with x to one side of the equation
to do this we will add 2x to both sides of the equation
6x + 2x - 3 = -2x + 2x + 21
6x + 2x - 3 = 0 + 21
6x + 2x - 3 = 21
next move all terms without x to the opposite side of the equation
we will do this by adding 3 to both sides
6x + 2x - 3 + 3 = 21 + 3
6x + 2x - 0 = 21 + 3
6x + 2x = 21 + 3
now combine like terms
8x = 24
finally solve for x by dividing both sides by 8
8x/8 = 24/8
x = 3
Answer: so the solution is x = 3
check the answer by replacing the x in the orginal equationn with 3
6x - 3 = -2x + 21
6(3) - 3 = -2(3) + 21
18 - 3 = -6 + 21
15 = 15
replacing x with 3 we end up with a true statement of 15 = 15
so we have proved that our answer is correct.
