On the school bus there are 53 students if there are 13 more
boys than girls. How many girls are on the bus?
There are 13 extra boys.  So tell 13 boys to get off the bus 
and you'll have 53-13=40 students left, half boys and half girls.  
So left on the bus will be 20 boys and 20 girls.

Answer: 20 girls
