P(6,8),Q(12,16)
I need assistance working this problem. My confussion is can the line segment be written up to 12 and 16 points on the line and will I use M to represent the midpoint. This whole problem is confussing.

The x-coordinate of the midpoint is the average of the x values of the points.
The y-coordinate of the midpoint is the average of the y values of the points.
midpoint = [(6+12)/2, (8+16)/2) = (9,12)
