Value Eq: 85a + 123p = 400 cents

Substitute for "a" and solve for "p"::
85(2p) + 123p = 400
170p + 123p = 400
293p = 400
p = 1.37 lbs of pears

a = 2p = 2(1.37) = 2.73 lbs of apples
