First in order to solve this you must realize you need to remove something that the can be taken to the 1st root.
After analyzing the problem you should see that at the top you have x^4.
The sqrt of x^4=x^2. Since it matches the criteria for the first root, you move it to the outside...it gets out of jail if you will, leaving his buddy 5 under the ratical sign because he doesn't get to leave.
