2x+ and 2x%2B2
then:
2x+%2B+5+=+%281%2F2%29%2A%282x%2B2%29
2x+%2B+5+=+%28x%2B1%29+
2x+=+x+-4
2x+-x+=+-4+
x+=+-4
so
2x+=+-8 (this is smaller eveninteger)
and
%282x%2B2%29=+-6 (this is greater even integer)
since %281%2F2%29 of -6 is equal to -3
then -%283%2B5%29=-8
