You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=y+12
x+y = 90 substitute for x:
y+12+y = 90
2y+12 = 90
2y = 78
y = 39
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Check:
39+(39+12)= 39+51= 90 Correct.
angle X is 12 degrees greater than angle Y. If together they make 90 degrees. Write and solve an equation that shows the value of angle X?
Measure of ∠ X: X
Measure of ∠ Y: X - 12
We then get: X + X - 12 = 90
2X = 102
∠X = 102%2F2, or ∠X = highlight_green%2851%5Eo%29
