You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Call the prices of adult and children's tickets, a and c. Then we can write
3a + 4c = 99 and
2a + 3c = 70
Multiply the top one by 2 and the bottom one by three and subtract them...we get
6a + 8c = 198
-(6a + 9c = 210)
------------------
-c = -12
c = 12 ($12 for a child's ticket)
Now substitute that into the top equation and get
3a + 4(12) = 99
3a + 48 = 99
3a = 51
a = 17 ($17 for an adult ticket)
