Something's wrong!

Both bananas and pumpkins are FRUITS,
so no vegetables are mentioned.

You must have meant this instead:

The cost of bananas is $5 per kilogram,
while the cost of pumpkins is $3 per kilogram.

If twice the amount of bananas was bought than
pumpkins and the total cost was $130, how many
of each were bought?

If so then

system%28B=2P%2C5B%2B3P=130%29

By substitution substitute 2P for B in

     5B+3P = 130
5(2P) + 3P = 130
  10P + 3P = 130
       13P = 130
         P = 10 kilos of pumpkins

Substitute (10) for P in

         B = 2P
         B = 2(10)
         B = 20 kilos of bananas
