Make width = 'x'
Length = x + 25
Perimeter = 2(width) + 2(length)
840 = 2(x) + 2(x + 25)
840 = 2x + 2x + 50
Collect like terms:
2x + 2x = 840 - 50
4x = 790
x = 197.5 metres
Width = 197.5m
Length = 222.5m
